Bike of the Week 14: 2011 Cannondale Flash Carbon 29’er 3

I’m very excited about a number of the 2011 bikes, but the 2011 Cannondale Flash Carbon 29’er 3 really stands out. It comes equipped with lots of new products and technologies. Cannondale’s new features include the new adjustable OPI (One Piece Integrated) SI stem and the 90mm travel 29’er one-piece upper and lower PBR Lefty. SRAM has brought 2X10 drivetrain technology down to the X.7 level and equipped it on this bike. FSA’s contribution to the 2X10 movement includes the new 386 series cranksets which is on this bike. 386 stands for 3 bolt with 86mm spacing. Both chainrings use the same bolt which is new for mountain bikes. Schwalbe Racing Ralph tires are mounted to SunRingle Equalizer rims. Avid Elixir CR brakes do plenty of stopping.

The Flash frame is really an incredible work of art from Cannondale. It’s inspiration can be seen in the new CAAD10, SuperX, and Scalpel. The Continuous Fiber feature is the special sauce in the Flash. Match that with the BB30 and a Lefty, and boom. That’s a fast bike.

We weighed this one shown as pictured, which includes Crank Brothers pedals, and it came in at an impressive 23.59 pounds. That’ts amazing for a $2800 29’er. Come take a look and test ride it today!
