Last week, this video of Cannondale’s all new Slice RS showed up. RS stands for Rocket Ship. Looks like and rides like one. Many have thought it would be called the Super Slice, which is not true. You can see that there are lots of new technologies and design language in this new bike, not just a rehash of the current Slice. There has been a fair amount of criticism about this bike being ugly. Hold your judgement for now, because I think when you get to see one in real life, it will look amazing. This video sheds some light on why some things are so crazy looking, especially that seat post which has taken a verbal beating in forums online. Like the current Slice carbon bike, there is an extreme amount of adjustability in the seat post and handlebar/stem for a perfect fit for any one and any application. As stated in the video, this bike adapts for Tour de France pro riders like Liquigas-Cannondale’s Ivan Basso, to World Championship Ironman racers, to mere mortals like us.
No word on pricing or availability yet, but you can be sure that we’ll have some of the first ones in America when they do come out. Watch this blog for any updates on this bike, we hope to have pricing, specs, weights, and more photos before too long.
If you’ve been following this bike as it has evolved from a rumor with spy shots until now, you’ve probably seen everything available. For those of you that haven’t here are some photos and posts on other websites about the new bike.
