A lot of name for a lot of bike. Cannondale came out in 2013 with their Racing Edition bikes saying ‘this is what we would do to our own bikes.’ In addition to this EVO, there is also a CAAD10 Racing Edition available.
Some of the highlights hanging on the Hi-Mod frame are
- the new 2013 Hollowgram SiSL2 crank that is lighter and stiffer than previous generations of Cannondale’s premium crank,
- Vision TC24 carbon tubular wheelset,
- the new SRAM Red kit,
- and Cannondale’s new super stiff C1 stem and matching C1 seatpost.
In a 56cm frame, the actual bike in the pictures with tubular tires glued weighs in at just 13.60 pounds (including the price tag and spoke protector. Hey, every gram counts.)! At $6,500 it isn’t exactly a cheap bike, but the idea behind the Racing Edition is that you wouldn’t have to do anything to get this bike ready to race.
And then there’s the paint job. This is a really cool looking bike. It also comes in a more subtle black if you’re not tough enough for this retro-racing inspired colorway.
