We received the following email from UDOT regarding construction and cycling in Provo Canyon.
US-189 Construction: Shoulder Closures in Provo Canyon
April 6th to late May
UDOT will be doing safety improvements requiring shoulder closures and lane closures at intersections between Mt. Timpanogas Park and Vivian Park starting Sunday, April 6 and continuing through late May.
Cyclists are advised to use the trail in this section of the canyon as the shoulders will be fully closed. Also, please be aware that concrete panels are being replaced and need several days to cure before bicycles or vehicles can be driven over them. These sections of “wet” concrete are designated by a green traffic cone or a “Concrete Curing” sign.
Construction will add improvements to several intersections that include: widened shoulders, acceleration lanes, center turn lanes, and added lighting.
Please contact the Public Information Team with any questions or concerns at 385-312-4881.
