2012 Infinite Cycles Race Team
NEWS: First round of enrollment for the 2012 team is closed. Because of the amount of interest expressed, we have opened another opportunity to join the team.
The first order team clothing is in production. Those that join the team in this second round will not receive clothing on the first order, but we will reorder once this period has closed. The final deadline to join the team for 2012 is February 1st. The price has been raised by $15 (to $190) to offset costs of the clothing reorder. New members will receive the same benefits. We will not be making any more “additional clothing” for the reorder. Just jerseys and bib shorts. Please don’t delay, once the clothing order is submitted, there is no way to join the team.
2011 was a great year for the Infinite Cycles Race Team, but it had its ups and downs. Our most certain low point was the sudden passing away of our friend and teammate David Thompson in July. With his help, we grew our numbers and participation in races and endurance events.
In August, we had an opportunity to ride with the Liquigas-Cannondale pro cycling team after the Tour of Utah at the Grand Opening of the second Infinite Cycles location. With our new location in Utah County, we have attracted a number of riders to join our team.
For 2012, we are stepping up to the next level with organized racing. We will be a registered team with UCA and USAC. We’re currently in the middle of cyclocross season and hope to finish the UTCX series with a top ten in the team points contest. Many of our friends and customers have become racers and are growing and improving over the past few years. We will add consistent organization and better communication tools this year to keep the team members moving forward. Experienced racers will be aiding newer racers learn tips, tricks, etc to improve. And who wouldn’t want to be associated with our sweet new van wrap!
This year’s organized racing focus will be on road racing. We will have plenty of mountain and cyclocross racers that will be participating across multiple cycling disciplines.
Team Is Open For Everyone
The Infinite Cycles team is not exclusively for experienced, elite racers. We hope to have a number of racers, but our team is also focused on weekend club rides and charity event rides. Don’t be intimidated by the “racing” aspect. If you have interest in becoming a better cyclist in your favorite type of riding, whether that is racing or just for fun and fitness, come join our team. If you’re intrigued by racing but don’t know how or where to start, join our team. Last year, many of our members started racing for the first time.
It isn’t too difficult. We don’t hold tryouts or auditions or examine resumes. Riders of all levels enjoy having the social element of having a regular group to ride with.

Training Camp
Team training camp will be held in February in southern Utah. Team officers will organize the itinerary and schedule. Everyone will pay their own way. Get out of the snow and learn racing, training, and riding techniques, and how to understand the complicated racing points system in a fun and casual atmosphere. This sounds intimidating, but this is a fun weekend away from the winter.
End of Year Social
We will plan on a closing social at the end of the road season in October. Details on the date and location will be determined later.
